This is the Ivy Leaf buckle. I was asked to make this as part of a trade for a belt. Before I started I honestly can say I wasn't sure what an ivy leaf looked like. After I get my belt in trade I will update this post with a picture.
I thought about this for a while. I almost bought a stamped leaf and attached it. I am glad I didn't. This is weld build-up. Then ground flat. After the leaf was the correct shape, I added the leaf veins with hammer and chisel. The buckle was then cleaned up and left natural steel color. finished with two layers of clear laquer. I
My computer was having problems and Google wasn't working so I couldn't blog, but all is well thanks to an amazing friend who helped us.
More custom buckles. Here is the photo sent to me of "Drake" from the PS3 Uncharted title. some what small here but was easily seen in email.
Here is the finished product. I used two layers and just used "artist license" to fill in the design that was not seen well in the photo. Then used 14k gold color paint, sanded some off to give it a well worn look, and voila. This buckle was quite heafty.
The customer sent a picture after they received it (they loved it). Sorry its kinda blurry.
